I started following Shay Haddow during COVID. My oldest daughter was a junior in high school and was struggling with her confidence in trying to get better at a sport she was not playing much due to the closures of the pandemic. She was frustrated and her confidence in her ability to succeed in her dreams was fading. After a quick search on the web, I stumbled across Shay's Facebook site. Naturally, I attended a few Facebook live sessions she hosted there and was hooked on her message for my daughters. In one of the sessions, she mentioned a book that she had written. I found it on Amazon. She mentioned how it was a tool for young women to use to build routines and skills to boost and maintain confidence.
I read the book. It is great. It is not super technical and written in a way that kids as young as 10 can understand the message she is delivering. The thing I like about the book is that it offers wider margins for note-taking, offers pages that have places for the kids to do exercises and journal notes and it can be read over and over again. Each time is a new journey, as you are more than likely in a different place than you were the time you read the book before. I ordered two books for each of my daughters. They read it and I hope they still do.
As a coach of young women, I refer this book to my players when they or their parents come to me about struggling with confidence. I have had many kids elect to reach out to Shay and become clients. Their results speak for themselves. If you are interested in getting this book a link to it is here. Shay offers a lot of services, but I feel this book is a great place to start. Take some time, read the book, and even as an adult male, I learned things that have helped me in my life.
